For exceptional casesFor exceptional cases. It does not do what the decision forms do (sending files, metadata, citations, DOI); it asks for a reason, is confirmed with a code sent to your e-mail, and the other editors and administrators are notified.
Why two steps? A manual status change bypasses the decision forms. The system lists exactly which steps are skipped, asks for confirmation with a one-time code sent to the editor's own e-mail, and notifies the other editors of the change. The process cannot be skipped with a single click.

Where do the statements come from? The Research and Publication Ethics, Ethics Committee, Author Contribution, Conflict of Interest, Support and Funding and AI Use statements, and the Acknowledgements, are not retyped into a separate box. They sit in the manuscript's own record, and the template prints them from there, in the same order and under the same headings as the article page on the public site. If a statement or the abstract changes after typesetting, the typeset file is flagged as "stale". The citation line uses the APA string the system produces, so the metadata on the public site and the PDF say the same thing.

Who can open the full text? Metadata, abstract and DOI stay public in every case; only the file is gated.
This screen appears in the menu only when the module is enabled (Settings › Reader Access). Journals with the module switched off do not see it in the menu, but it is not missing.

Why is an incomplete article left out? When DOAJ meets a structure it does not expect, it rejects the whole file rather than skipping one article. Incomplete records are excluded so the remaining 46 upload cleanly.

Why are publication statistics off by default? Indexes view published figures positively, but announcing "100% acceptance" makes a journal look predatory. Whether to publish them is the journal's call.

Why "tested with a live request"? If a server setting changes (hosting is moved, a configuration is reset), the folder holding referee reports can quietly become public. This check sends an actual request to confirm it is closed.

My manuscript has been with reviewers since early August and I cannot get any news about it.
Who can file? Only the submitting author of a rejected manuscript can appeal, one open appeal per manuscript. Any author with access to the manuscript can file a complaint. Resolution sits with the editor-in-chief and the administrator; the outcome is e-mailed to the author.

Change the section editor of in-process manuscripts in one go. The reason is written to each manuscript's activity log; conflicts of interest are checked manuscript by manuscript.

I acknowledge possible conflict-of-interest warnings (same institution, same name); definite conflicts are still skipped.
Unassigned manuscripts too: the "Manuscripts without a section editor (bulk assignment)" option in the "From" list gives every editor-less manuscript to one person at once. It goes through the same checks and the same e-mail as a single assignment.

The screen reads the document. The matrix is not a hand-typed table; it is drawn from the roles and permissions document, so when a role's rights change and the document is updated, the screen follows. Not appearing in the menu is not a permission: every screen has its own server-side gate.

Option 1 — command line (recommended)
In your hosting panel, go to Advanced → Cron Jobs → New cron job. Choose once an hour as the frequency and enter this command:
/usr/bin/php /home/user/public_html/cron.php
The file path is generated for this installation; you do not need to change it. If your host does not allow command-line jobs, option 2 is calling an address (with the token).

Data Export
Download all of the journal's data in open formats: for a backup or a move to another system. Packages are not kept on the server; every download is written to the audit log.
Package
Data (database SQL + table CSVs + field dictionary)
Files (full texts, attachments, typeset files) — about 1.8 GB, 2,431 files
The code goes to the administrator's e-mail and is tied to the selected package. Large archives may take a few minutes to build.
What the packages contain
Data: veritabani.sql (restorable into MySQL/MariaDB), tablolar/*.csv for every table (opens in Excel) and alan_sozlugu.csv (type and description of every column).
Files: the arsiv/ and panel/arsiv/ folders with their server structure.
Personal data: the packages contain users' personal details and password hashes (KVKK, Turkey's data protection law). Keep the downloaded file somewhere safe.
No lock-in. If you ever move the journal to another system, all of your data is in your hands in open formats with one click. No automatic backups are kept on the server; for regular backups use this screen or your host's backup service.
Security Log
Logins, verifications, denied access, role and settings changes. Records are read-only; they cannot be deleted or edited.

Secrets are never written. Settings changes are recorded as old → new; for fields holding secrets (SMTP password, API keys) only "changed" is written. The same denied access is not logged twice within a minute, so the log does not drown in noise.

Anonymisation: the account is deactivated, name/e-mail/contact fields are erased, roles are removed, and recipients and content of e-mails sent to the person are deleted. Author rows on manuscripts, reviewer reports and security records are kept. This cannot be undone.
Confirmed by code. Because anonymisation is irreversible, it is confirmed with a six-digit code sent to the administrator's e-mail and written to the security log. Author details on a published article are part of the scholarly record and are not erased.

Checked on the server, not just in the browser. A submission with an out-of-range abstract, a missing statement or a malformed ORCID does not go through. When the form comes back, nothing you typed is lost; the first step with an error opens and the fields are marked.
